Water is the best drink you can have. It’s free, it’s in the tap and best of all, it’s healthy. It’s not going to fix everything in your life, but water can help with many things. Your body is 60% water, and it helps with digestion, absorption of nutrients, circulation, transportation and more obviously, temperature regulation (through sweat).

At Infinity Health and Osteo you often get weird little tips, and here is one some of you may have heard before. Having 2 cups of water before your meals can help with weight loss for obese adults. It allows you to feel full and is calorie free itself. Definitely add this one to your list of positive lifestyle changes including more exercise and better diet choices.

Water can also help:

  • Reduce muscle cramps
  • Skin appearance (it’s not going to make wrinkles disappear though!)
  • Quench your thirst better than any sport or soft drink will!

How do I know if I am dehydrated?

If you are thirsty the chances are you’ve missed the boat and your body has started to absorb any spare water it can find. The best test is to you look at your urine. It gives you an insight into the water levels within your body since you last went to the toilet. It should be a yellow straw colour. Don’t forget some medications can cause dehydration, so check with your GP if you’re concerned!

Now you’re thirsty…do you have your bottle with you?

Look after yourselves,
