Pregnancy + Baby present ideas
Are you or one of your nearest and dearest expecting? Here are some handy accessories and products that you might not have thought of which may prove incredibly helpful!
Some of the best products for expecting mums are super cheap and accessible from companies like Kmart, Big W and Ikea. Evan’s tip is grabbing this stool from Kmart for $19 and using it as a kids chair and table (they sit on the bottom step)!

Some tips of great items to get from our local new mums include:
- A formula machine: really great for mothers who don’t breastfeed. This may be helpful at reducing bubbles (aiding reflux), keeping formula at the perfect temperature and avoiding burns!
- Anything with Zips! Stuff those annoying buttons – when it’s 3am and you’re tired a zipper will rule every time.
- Swaddles and Angel suits: are great, with no risk of the baby covering themselves in a blanket.
- Mummy rocker: really useful for helping bubs get to sleep and to calm them down.
- Baby capsules: transportable seating that helps to reduce car sickness and are especially suitable for babies in car rides. - Cubo Baby monitor – HD, available to stream wherever you are!
- Owlet smart sock – especially for prem babies (monitor heart rate and oxygen)
Some fun items to get for the new family can also include items like:
- Shirts with pouches for carrying the new bub
- Baby hip seats
- Spill proof spouts for cups
And of course some essentials products that you won’t want to be without!

Some great maternity clothes are also a plus for our mums to be! We’ve found that emamaco (https://www.emamaco.com.au/) have a great range of maternity pants, as well as a range of nursing tops!
We’ve also had some of our mums review their favourite pregnancy support leggings and shorts, this is what they found!
- Active truth: RRP $100-130. These pants are super comfy and have great stomach support for active days!
- SRC: RRP $189. These pants sit up and over the bump, providing excellent pelvic support. Really great to wear on less active days and would be an amazing recovery garment too! In comparison to Active truth, these sit a bit higher but also feel like they give a little less stomach support.
